The CUG (computer users group) advises us to download SpyWare Terminator along with AVG for excellent protection from spyware and viruses. Here are the instructions for downloading:
Google SpyWare Terminator,
Left click on first or second entry.
Left click on Download here 9yellow box).
Left click on Download Here version 2.0.1.224;7.80M3.
Left click on Save File
Watch the downloading graphic SpyWare Terminator Setup.exe.
Left click Clean Up
Go to Desktop
Left click on SpyWare Terminator icon
Left click Next
Check I accept agreement.
Left click Next
Left Click Next (web security toolbar)
Uncheck Crawler as default search engine.
Left click Next
Left click Finish.
On SpyWare Terminator Setup Assistant leave Protect against Spyware checked.
Left click Next
Leave checked Yes send info to Spyware Central automatically.
Left click Finish
Left click Run Scan.
If there are threats, note the threat level and either click on Remove or Uncheck.
